Hello everyone,
In the lead up to COP26, there has been an increased focus on climate change and the escalating crises we face. Below are 3 recorded webinars that focus on different dimensions of climate action. The first webinar focuses on the lead into COP26, and features 4 of RRU’s climate change subject matter experts – Dr. Ann Dale, Dr. Leslie King, Dr. Robin Cox, and Dr. Julie MacArthur – discussing their hopes and dreams for COP 26. The 2nd webinar examines the unequal distribution of climate impacts on Indigenous communities and the role of reconciliation in our response to climate change featuring RRU’s Indigenous Academic Advisor, Russ Johnston, in conversation with RRU’s Dr. Hilary Leighton and Dr. Chris Ling. The final webinar focuses on last summer’s Lytton Wildfire, examining the intersection of climate change and wildfires and how climate resilience is needed as a lens for approaching disaster recovery. This last webinar is facilitated by MA Climate Action Leadership Program Head, Dr. Robin Cox, and features Chief Patrick Michell from the Kanaka Bar band (himself a survivor of the Lytton fire), climate adaptation specialist Tine Rossing, and Dan Sandink, Director of Research at the Institute for Catastrophic Loss reduction.
